Wah, the backstory to this one is quite long !

It all began with a weird attempt to render an illustration with Kat holding Zero's helmet.

Quite easy : I took an existing model of Zero and carved his body out of his skull (in other words, I removed the unnecessary polygons and kept the helmet only).
Whilst doing this, I was tempted to try something : to put that helmet on Kat's head.
And after a few adjustments and tweaks, I managed to get a decent look.
A few hours later I now had Kat wearing Zero's helmet, and Zero's traditional now red tinted hair growing out of it. Yeah !

The next day, I decided to go even further, and I did the same with most of Zero's armor : I wanted to have Kat wear Zero's armor.
Which became my main goal, aaaaaaaand, again, it worked quite well !

I did a few test renders with the character... and thought "let's go a step further !"

One of my ideas was to recreate some silly video game parody, I wanted Kat-Zero facing Tannen who would have been cosplaying as Link.

I used a rather "neutral" Smash Bros.-ish environment, as it fitted the whole idea the best.

But then I grew a bit lazy and decided to use a traditional X instead of Tannen; and eventually I replaced Kat with Zero altogether.

At this point, I decided to build this whole diorama kinda thing and tried to give it that specific toys-look. Something a fan would be building to emphasize his favorite figures (that's what one should do with amiibos... instead of letting them rot on a boring dusty shelf ! I'm looking at you, ALL OF YOU !)

The whole style kinda grew to me and gave me a few ideas actually.

Also, I'd totally love to see a Smash Bros. game with THAT kind of aesthetic : toys in a kid's room, the way it was supposed to be in the original Smash Bros. on Nintendo 64.

And yup, the wires are required !
