Clannad - "I Will Find You"
Just wanted to make a quick test with some clothes ideas for Kat. Initially I wanted him to wear even skimpier stuff, even considered some kind of leather boots.
Didn't plan to make it anything at all, just this quick test. But midways I thought it would be a waste of a decent looking render, so I made a few light adjustments and finished it.
I didn't consider any setting nor background, so I made some quick random searches : mountains, horizons, grassy fields, the usual stuff. But then I thought it would be nice to have an urban setting.
I threw all those random ideas together, called it a day and uploaded it. I didn't have a name nor description, as everything was just pure random.
And then, while looking at it, I suddenly remembered the lyrics of an old Clannad song - and thought it would be the perfect fit.
I just liked all the contrasts here, Kat looking so out of place. A clashing of worlds. And yet, he's still pushing through.
I feel kinda ashamed that the thought behind the illustration comes primarily from the song again, and not from my render. And I am, again, a thief feeding on artists much better than I'll ever be... but I also have no shame in admitting this, and I hope that this humility will at least add a thin layer of sincerity to my work.
And now I'm pretty satisfied. Except for my signature-logo on the pic - it's ugly as shit.
Background story ?
Hu... dunno... Kat was hungry and remembered someone mentioning that the best pizzeria was in this city. So he gathered all his courage, left the wild behind and walked into this concrete realm of madness with the hope to find it. THE END.
