Here, have 10 hours of rain sounds.
Very very experimental.
I didn't plan this out at all, so everything's improvised.
I started playing with the idea yesterday evening, I thought it would be very easy to just move those rain layers individually, take a couple of snapshots and turn it into a quick animated image.
But then I started using the PS timeline, lots of trickery and features. I made a raw draft, it worked. And I went to bed with the excitation to redo it properly the next day.
As I worked on the rain, I thought it would also be interesting to animate those poppies, just as easy as the rain, right ?
But oh boy - did this piss me off. I've rarely been so angry and raging in front of my computer. That timeline tool made no fucking sense, and one thing that worked the first time made some complete bullshit the second time around.
Boiling, I decided to scrape the poppies animation, and I exported my thing. And well, the result was shit.
I still needed lots of video post-processing to crop the damn thing and re-encode it. And then, cherry on the cake, the animation loop, which only lasted ONE DAMN SECOND, wasn't even complete. I had something like 70% of the animation I did.
The entire morning for this ?!
FUCK.
THAT.
SHIT.
I threw it all away, cursed at PS, and decided to install AE instead.
I'd never used that one before, so everything was quite new to me. I quickly recognized some of the features that I'd already seen in PS though, so it didn't take too long for me to get accustomed with the ideas behind it.
And so I rebuilt it entirely from scratch, with real, dedicated tools.
I kept the loop at 5 seconds, cause the original file would have been too large, and then packed all the little animations thingies I wanted to try inside it.
As I said above, it is far from perfect, and still very experimental. I could have tried to do something with her hair for example. But as I didn't plan any of this, my raw material wasn't fully ready for it neither. And I wasn't in the mood to re-render any of it again.
Then I needed to compress that entire thing. The original file was 700 MB... I had to get it down to ~10 MB. At this point I tried to add some rain audio, but after another serie of unsuccessful tests -as web browsers cannot loop the audio seamlessly- I dropped this idea also.
Instead, I just added the rain effect with some lazy Youtube embedding on autoplay (update : I removed the autoplay).
YEAH I DID THAT !!
FUCK YOU !!!!!
AND NOW I'M DONE !!!!!!!
AIN'T THAT FUCKING BEAUTIFUL ?!!?!!!!!!
